Under No Obligation

Young people in the Western world frequently enter adulthood with little or no direct obligation. A common folly of youth is to accept or take on responsibility to others too soon and/or out-of-proportion to their readiness or capability. It might be a better use of time for young men and women to maintain more manageable levels of commitment until the period when their experience and maturity are more equal to the task, not to mention postponing the worthy weight of responsibility until after attainment of some of the sweeter joys and satisfactions which only good health, spirit and youthful zest can best realize. Great care must of course be taken to prevent the incurring of too much early responsibility through careless actions and choices.
